Topic/ Word – NORTH
Produce an idea for a video game which relates to the northern hemisphere or the word “north”.
My General Ideas –

My Idea
I will produce various pieces of concept art for a game in which the player controls a farmer* and is attempting to keep his pandas* from being eaten by giant worms* using medieval weaponry*. I will use Photoshop CS6 to produce and develop my Art work concepts and they will show the world the player lives in as well as the User Interface in which they upgrade their armory and defenses.I have many ideas as if I was to make this game and I will be using concept art to express those ideas in a way that I would want the game to be like.
As a part of research I visited Scotland and took at look at a few landscapes since our FMP topic is North and I wanted to see what some farmland or grassland would look like in the cold weather. This was helpfu; because it informed me of how view points work and the way objects can or cannot be seen at certain perspectives. Knowing this makes my illustrations more realistic and believable.
My target market for this idea is teenagers or adults which play mobile or PC games as they are the best platforms for this game and the majority of people who would play it prefer having a game like this on their phone.
I intend to use many different painting techniques such as working from larger brushes first then to smaller brushes, adding clipping masks, blur effects, quick shapes and gradients.
I will need to research:
- What the life of a farmer is like.
- The nature of Pandas and Worms.
- The different types of medieval weapon and how they work.
