This page shows me learning and practicing the skills I have learn’t and shows each individual step of my work as I create a concept art piece for an Alien out of the film Alien.
Above is the reference image I used and I used this image to copy the colors of the alien. It is always a good idea to get a reference image if you can as they help a lot with colors and sizes but if you cannot get a reference image then you can still create concepts. It is a good idea to increase your resolution to 200 before you start your concept work.
As you can see in the screenshot above I have created 2 windows in Photoshop, one is my concept work and the other is my reference image. In the window containing my concept work I have a layer above the reference image. this first layer is my blocking work which is just getting the basic colors and shapes.
